Atlantic-Pacific Group, LLC, Training Division (APG-TD)

Who We Are: APG-TD was formed in October 2001 by a group of experienced logisticians, all of whom have over 20 years of logistics management experience within the military and government, and a common goal. The goal is simply to provide the best logistics support to military and government entities with regard to logistics' personnel using knowledge management and real-time training. We believe that any employee that uses the latest automated tools available from Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), the Services and commercial entities, will be more productive, provide better service, and be afforded more opportunities for advancement. We also believe that any manager that supports their employees by providing the latest training, and ensuring the deployment of the latest logistics tools, will have smarter employees and ultimately have better visibility of their logistics chain.

What We Do: APG-TD provides leading edge training for military and government and commercial entities, specifically in providing real-time logistics training using the latest automated tools provided by Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), service-specific and commercial entities. Training sessions concentrate on the four primary parts (technical screening, asset visibility, requisitioning and tracking status) of Supply Chain Management within the government. We tailor each session to specific needs of the attendees. We provide training at all bases around the world, and deploy with units when needed.

APG-TD Products: APG-TD created the Logistics Toolbox (Logtool.net) and develops training products such as Course Curriculums, User Guides, Quick Reference Guides (QuikRefs©), Logistics Excel (LogExcel©) and Computer-Based Training (CBT). Each of our products simplifies an otherwise complicated subject.

APG-TD Marketing: With our extensive knowledge of the DoD logistic system, our natural expansion has been to private industry in helping them market their capabilities to the government. Our marketing included a full range of consulting, marketing and research required to bringing new products and services to the military market.

APG-TD Trainers: Our trainers’ expertise in logistics spans over 140 combined years in logistics operations, systems and management. Additionally, we have many field experts strategically located on both coasts and in Asia. We focus on the specific training needs of the military and government employees, provide expert training with regard to logistics and operational readiness.

APG-TD Services: Our trainers can assist logistics departments with technical screening of material, asset visibility, solving backordered requisitions, status management. During training sessions, we review the definitions of the four parts of supply chain management, then provide product and system solutions. We also provide many different methods where the student can capture and manage logistics information, project future savings and reduce the requisition-to-receipt time, thereby increasing operational readiness.

APG-TD Training: Our training division provides professional training while also maintaining detail-orientated, yet informal classroom environment. Students are introduced to systems or products at a comfortable pace and are encouraged to participate throughout the training to related their experiences to the systems or product solutions. During training sessions, attendees are provided the definitions of the four parts of supply chain management, then provided with hands-on exercises which assist in solving problems with each of these functions. Attendees will also learn how to batch process as opposed to one record at a time processing, hence Return On Investment (ROI).

Logistics Toolbox is an outstanding logistics resource locator with links to hundreds of Department of Defense, government and commercial web sites facilitating customerâs logistics needs. From Logistics Toolbox users can click on tabs to Identify Items (technical screening), Check Assets (stock check), Order Material/services (requisitioning) and Track Status (check status). Through this TAV portal logisticians can access many of DLAâs databases and web sites. This site also identifies other government and commercial sites providing information that may affect the logistics community's ability to support customers, such as geography, weather, medical and political resources. Also available at this site are newsletters, training and briefings. Today, many logistics systems within Department of Defense (DoD) have unique names and, unless you know where to find the information, it may be difficult to determine the type of data the systems provide until you understand some basics. Having a general understanding of the supply system and the way each of the Services perform logistics, Logistics Toolbox is the best place to find the right site. Additionally, it is helpful to understand the different sources of data (e.g., core database like DLA SAMMS, LOTS and others).
