Instructions on Submitting DSS Queries

To send a query to DSS:

  1. Enter the query data. Enter the 14 position Document Number.

  2. You can enter many queries at one time. After entering your first query, click on the 'Next' button. This will clear the input field for you to enter your next query. Repeat this procedure until you have entered all your queries. You can review your queries by using the 'Previous' and 'Next' buttons. You can also go to a specific query by entering the query number in the 'Go to Record #' field and clicking on the button. You can delete individual queries by using the 'Delete Items' button. You can delete all your queries with the 'Delete All Items' button.

  3. Submit the query or queries by clicking on the 'Submit' button. At this point, WebLINK will forward your query or queries for processing.

Getting Your Responses

  1. To get responses to your queries, click on 'Responses' . WebLINK will check to see if responses to your queries have processed. If there are responses, you will get a display that lists all of the databases. Next to each database will be the number of responses you have received. If there is a number next to DAASC, you have responses. Click on DAASC to get a listing of the response files. Click on the response file to view your response.
  2. Use your web browser's 'Print' function to print the response. Use your web browser's 'Save' function to save the response. Please note that after viewing the response file, WebLINK will delete the file. So, if you want to print or save the file, you must do so before moving onto the next response file.
  3. Click on your web browser's 'Back' button to continue viewing your responses.
  4. If you have not received all your responses, you can click on the 'Responses' button. This will instruct WebLINK to check for new responses.
  5. You may also receive responses via Email by clicking the Email button. This will send your responses directly to your email address recorded in your System Access Request (SAR). Response data in the e-mail message may not line up properly, depending on the default type-style of your e-mail software. Should this happen, highlight the entire response and change the font to Courier New and the columns should align themselves properly.
